What does Stone Creek Catering provide?

We are a full-service caterer working together with you from the beginning thru the end of your event. Planning the menu, ordering and or providing the rentals you need, all service staff from bartenders, servers, chefs, behind the scenes venue set up and break down, trash removal, and many of the little extras like themed décor and assistance in matching you with entertainment, florists, cake designers, photographers, and wedding coordinators.

Do we need a wedding coordinator if we hire Stone Creek Catering?

This is dependent on the style and level of your event, personal preferences and feeling comfortable.  Our services include many of the services included in a wedding planners job description. I like to think we complement each other.  We do have some wonderful event planners in our area who we will be happy to put you in contact with should you desire to speak with one.

What is an “off – premise” cater?

Off premise includes any venue, anywhere. From a small private dinner party in your home to a large scale gala event in a hotel, at the ski areas, out on the frozen lakes or tented in beautiful a meadow. Anywhere food can be served we will take it there.   Bringing our culinary crafts, to you in a creative, safe , and festive way.

What is your “on –premise” venue?

Our home venue is the Daven Haven Lodge located in Grand Lake, Colorado.  We have been serving food here since 1990. Within our first month of business we were asked to cater a local wedding.  Immediately conceived  from this event we developed our sister catering company "Stone Creek Catering.”

Where do you cater?

We have actually been hired as staff to caterer at the 2002 Salt Lake and 2010 Olympic Games so in actuality we will cater just about anywhere.  We have the capability to set up, and bring in what we need  in areas without facilities such as running water, or kitchens  serving up elegant food in log cabins to firefighters out in their elements.   We have a list of local venues we most frequently cater at

Can we purchase our own liquor if we are at a venue that does not hold a liquor license?

Dependent on venue policy ….most certainly.  We will be happy to assist you should you need help ordering or having your beverages stored and delivered.

Do you charge a corkage fee?

For any event where we take care of ALL of the alcoholic beverage details we do charge a corkage fee of $10 per guest.  The liquor bill, is billed separately from the liquor vendor.

Do you make wedding cakes?

We do make certain styles of wedding cakes.  Our specialty is “Grandma Ida’s” Carrot cake adorned with cream cheese frosting and fresh seasonal flowers.  For traditional wedding cakes we refer to our vendors.

Is there a cake cutting charge?

There is not.  Our staff will be happy to cut and serve you cake whether is comes from us or one of our local bakery or cake specialists.

Can you arrange for rentals of china, glassware, tents, tables etc?

We certainly can, in-fact we prefer to take care of the rentals.  We have over 30 years of relationships with most of our vendors.  Offering you a wide variety of selections on all things from china and stemware patterns to linens and chairs.

When we are handling the rentals it assures us that nothing has been left behind.

Can we create our own menu?

Absolutely!  While we have several menu selections already designed and tested. Although, we understand that you may want to design your own.  Additionally we are also happy to recreate any family recipe you bring to us. Serve up a Kosher meal, and any style of ethnic food you would like to share with your guests.

What about our guests with dietary restrictions?

With this in mind we always prepare a specially made individual entrée or include a selected group entrée made with care and consideration for everyone that reflects your guest’s dietary needs.

Do we have to have a full catered event to hire you?

We will happily provide services for your exact needs.  Preparing only apps, main dishes, sides, or desserts.  Or “drop” a fully prepared meal to your event and you take it from there. Providing as much or as little service as your needs or budget require.

When do we have to give you a final guest count for our event?

We like to have your final count at least 14 days prior to your event.  This allows us to be sure we have the necessary staffing, and works with food deliveries assuring we have all of your products in house so we can begin our prep scheduling.  This count is the minimum amount of guests you will be billed for.  If you have additional guests at the last minute this is not a problem if we know at least 72 hours in advance.  The additional guest count will be added to your final billing.

Can we pay you the day of our event?

It is our preferred policy to not take payment on event day.  We prefer per our contract to be paid in full prior to your event with any additional billing that may be necessary to be paid within 10 days of receiving your final statement. Typical additional billing might include additional labor hours, additional guests, breakage or damaged rental items, etc.
